The Fifth Flash

[If I was able to finish it,] it would be an epistle that would explain a very important reality of the verse حَسْبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَك۪يلُ.(a) (Footnote) However, it has been postponed for now as it was more related to remembrance (dhikr) and contemplation (fikr) than reality and knowledge (ḥaqīqah and ‘ilm)

A very essential epistle called “Mirqātu’s-Sunnah wa Tiryāqu Maraḍi’l-Bid‘ah” (The Ascending Stairway of the Sunnah and the Antidote to the Sickness of Religious Innovation), which is now The Eleventh Flash, was previously written as The Fifth Flash. However, since that epistle was divided into eleven important subtle points, later on it entered into the Corpus under the name of The Eleventh Flash. Hence, “The Fifth Flash” left unoccupied and wasn’t written.

Footnote: Since The Fourth Ray, which is Ar-Risālatu’l-Ḥasbiyya, explains the reality of this verse as well as that of the unwritten Fifth Flash in a degree, it may be said it stands for this [Fifth] Flash.
